PROJECT EXPERIENCE & CLIENT REFERENCES

GEOD's recent experience (within the last 5 years) in providing land surveying and aerial mapping services encompasses many projects within the New York metro area.  GEOD has provided these professional services on more than 500 projects within the last 5 years alone.  These projects ranged from small $1,000 - $5,000 projects, to projects totaling more than $1,000,000 in fees.   These services were performed on both public and private sector projects involving Utilities, Transportation, Site Facilities, Construction and Boundary/Property Surveys.  Specifically, in the last 5 years, GEOD has provided survey and mapping services for the public and private sectors including:

Trenton-Morrisville Toll Bridge Rehabilitation and One Auxiliary Northbound Lane. Geod provided photogrammetric mapping services, field surveys and ROW determination including the low altitude photography, base maps, contours and a digital terrain model for this project along U.S. Route 1 over the Delaware River within Bucks County, PA and Mercer County, NJ.

New York Power Authority
Surveying Services for Location & Mapping of Underground Facilities

GEOD provided surveying services to locate underground utilities (electrical cables, vaults, and fuel oil lines) at the Poletti Power Plant.  These services supported the Authority's process of identifying and quantifying constraints that would impact the design of a proposed 500 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant and a 14-inch diameter fuel oil line.  GEOD established horizontal and vertical control, located electrical cables, fuel oil lines, and vaults in three dimensions, and additional objects such as tanks and manholes.  The mapping was provided in AutoCAD at a base scale of 1"=20'.

Consolidated Edison
Surveying Services / 3D Laser Scanning & Modeling Services for Steam Main Design

GEOD provided laser scanning and modeling using the Cyrax system to create as-builts in support of the design of a proposed large-diameter steam main.  Cyrax was used in underground utility vaults under First Avenue in New York City to create an accurate as-built of the existing utilities and structures.  The result was an extremely accurate, detailed model that allowed for a more precise design.  Due to the very tight quarters and complexity of the existing utility system, the accuracy of the scans was critical in routing of the steam main and development of the restraining system.

Surveying and Mapping Services for Orange & Rockland Utilities.

ORU has retained GEOD's professional services to provide various surveying services in support of ORU's survey force on an as-needed basis.  Services include land surveys and title searches; right-of-way and easement surveys; topographic surveys; hydrographic surveying including soundings; transmission surveys (subsurface or overhead electric and subsurface gas or steam); route feasibility surveys and studies; volume/quantity surveys by digital terrain modeling; and miscellaneous aerial photography.

Port Authority of New York & New Jersey On-Call Services
Expert Professional Surveying & Photogrammetric Mapping Services

For more than 6 years, GEOD has been providing surveying and mapping services on Port Authority of NY & NJ facilities.  Currently, we are mapping ±5 miles of the PATH rail line and the Lincoln Tunnel Access.  Other facilities include airports (JFK, Newark, and Teterboro), industrial plants and facilities, tunnels, and ports.  Services include primary control surveys, topographic surveys, monumentation, GPS surveys, right-of-way mapping, property line surveys, horizontal and vertical control surveys, photogrammetric control surveys and aerial mapping.  All survey and mapping have been delivered in AutoCAD format.

Property Surveys for the 513-Acre EnCap Meadowlands Project, Rutherford, Lyndhurst, and North Arlington, NJ.

GEOD is providing a boundary survey and ALTA surveys for the HMDC project located in Rutherford, Lyndhurst, and North Arlington, NJ.  Services include research, field surveys, metes and bounds descriptions, mean high water line, pier head and bulkhead lines, and outshore structures as needed for riparian applications.

Topographic Mapping for the NJDOT Portway Project, Jersey City & Newark, NJ

GEOD has been awarded the contract to provide topographic mapping along various roads and highways in Jersey City and Newark, NJ for the New Jersey Department of Transportation.  For the Portway Project, GEOD provided new black & white aerial photography, performed a photo control survey and compiled digital topographic mapping for this 7.5-mile urbanized corridor.  Planimetric mapping and the DTM have been provided in MicroStation at both 1"=30' with 1-foot contours and at 1"=100' with 2-foot contours.

Predesign Surveying Services US Radium, Montclair, West Orange and Glen Ridge Radium Sites, Essex County NJ

For these contaminated areas, GEOD provided site surveys including property line surveys, topographic surveys, geodetic control surveys (utilizing GPS technology) and property monumentation.  Surveys included physical property boundaries including buildings, streets, curbs, trees, manholes, fences, utility poles etc.  All information was provided in MicroStation and AutoCAD digital formats.  Survey CAD standards conformed to the Corps of Engineers EM1110-1-1807 CAD Systems.

Consolidated Edison Deregulation Program Astoria Complex, Ravenswood Complex, Arthur Kill Site, Gowanus Site, Narrows Site, East River, Waterside & 74th Street Complex

GEOD has been providing land surveying and aerial mapping services for Consolidated Edison's deregulation program.  We have been working at their eight Fossil Fuel Converting Stations in and around the NYC area.  Services included property records research, property and boundary line surveys, topographic surveys, utility (surface and subsurface) surveys, right-of-way mapping, easements, encroachment and encumbrance location surveys, metes and bounds descriptions, monumentation, photogrammetric control, aerial mapping and field edit surveys.
